It looks like Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is playing his last season at the Old Trafford. The veteran defender is on the verge of signing a huge deal with Inter Milan, reports indicated on Wednesday.

Metro UK reported that Manchester United allowed Vidic to talk to Inter Milan, and sources added that the two parties had a very productive talk this past weekend.

Sources said that the 32-year-old center back expressed strong interest in accepting a transfer deal to the Italian Serie A club, which is reportedly willing to offer a two-year deal worth £100,000 per week.

Reports added that Vidic and representatives of Inter Milan are set to meet again in Manchester this week to iron out the details of the contract.

According to reports, the upcoming meeting will be just a formality, since Vidic has been very vocal about his desire to join Inter Milan next season.

Vidic, who was acquired by Manchester United from Spartak Moscow in January 2006, has been one of the cornerstones of the defensive line of the Red Devils, forming a dreaded partnership with Rio Ferdinand over the past several years.

The Serbian star previously expressed his desire to spend the remainder of his career at the Old Trafford, but the Red Devils have yet to offer an extension to Vidic, whose contract will run out after the current season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger refuted reports that the club is looking to make a strong push to acquire Luis Suarez from Liverpool again after the current season.

Arsenal reportedly made a strong pitch to sign Suarez last summer and was on the verge of striking a deal before the Gunners backed out of negotiations.

Wenger said that the club has no plans to talk to Liverpool again next summer about a potential transfer deal involving the Uruguay international.

The 27-year-old striker is having a great season this year, scoring 23 goals in 103 attempts to go along with seven assists in 19 English Premier League games this season.

But despite the productive season Suarez is having, Wenger insisted that the club has no regrets over their aborted deal with the striker.

Set to face Suarez and Liverpool on Saturday, the Gunners have little reason to be disappointed at this point, as they are currently on top of the Premier League table with 55 points from 17 victories in 24 matches.
