Golden Tate is expected to draw the interest of several NFL teams when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in March, but the wide receiver said on Tuesday that he wants to stay with the Seattle Seahawks.

In an interview with Sports Radio 950, Tate, who was a major factor in their Super Bowl-winning run this season, admitted that he knows team executives are facing tough decisions in the offseason with regards to keeping the team intact next season.

And in order to lessen the burden, Tate insisted that he is willing to settle for a less expensive contract to stay with the Seahawks, expressing no interest in signing with another team, even if he is offered a lucrative deal.

"I probably shouldn't even say this right now but I'm going to say it anyway just because I love Seattle, honestly, I would rather take a little less to be happy and win ball games than to take way more and go to a crappy city where the fans don't give a crap about the team," Tate said.

Tate is coming off the best season of his career, catching 64 passes for 898 yards with five touchdowns last season. His numbers are up, but the Seahawks are still mum on whether or not the 25-year-old wide receiver will receive a fresh contract in the offseason.

Previous reports indicated that signing Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman to an extension are the main priorities of the Seahawks in the offseason. Both Thomas and Sherman will become free agents after next season, and the Seahawks want to make sure to lock them up as soon as possible instead of running risk of losing both players via free agency.

Signing Thomas and Sherman to lucrative extensions could mean that the Seahawks should convince their soon-to-be-free-agent players like Tate and wide receiver Doug Baldwin to take less and make another Super Bowl run next season.

Tate will have no problem taking a less lucrative contract, but the former Notre Dame standout also insisted that he doesn't want to receive a "disrespectful" contract offer from the Seahawks.

"I don't want to be disrespected by any means," Tate stressed. "I want to be able to take care of myself and my family for the rest of my life at the same time. We'll see. That's what I have my agent for."
