It's pretty much a given that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be making its debut around the IFA 2013 electronics trade show in Berlin, but when and how exactly this will take place is still up in the air.

A report in late June revealed that Samsung could be holding one of their famous "Samsung Unpacked" events on Sept. 4, two days before IFA 2013 kicks off, at which the South Korean electronics manufacturer will reveal the Galaxy Note 3. No invitations for such an event have been sent out, so it's still unofficial - still, Samsung did show off the Galaxy Note 2 last year at a similar Unpacked event a couple days before IFA began.

According to an Android and Me report, however, Samsung will not hold a pre-IFA event, and instead simply unveil the next-gen phablet on the first day of IFA 2013, Sept. 6. Once again, there's confirmation of this except various unofficial reports out of Korea, and regardless of whether it's before or at IFA 2013, Samsung will undoubtedly roll out the red carpet for what should be its fall warrior.

The Galaxy Note 3 should then begin landing in consumer hands around the globe soon after, and hit the United States in time for the busy fall holiday shopping season. Production of the phablet is said to start in August.

As far as specs go, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is tipped to come with a 5.7-inch 1080p display, either an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 3GB RAM, and the latest versions of Android and the S Pen stylus. Samsung is said to be working on as many as eight variants of the smartphone, so expect plenty of Galaxy Note 3s to choose from, including possible Active and Google Play editions.
