Titanfall is set to appear on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, and fans are very interesting to try out the potentially groundbreaking game that seeks to mix genres and change the tropes associated with multiplayer games. While the game is set to appear on March 11, developer Respawn Entertainment has kept many details about the game under wraps. But now the company has revealed some details about the DLC plans for the game, saying that microtransactions will not be a part of the game and a season pass could be offered to users.

This news comes from the Twitter account for Respawn Entertainment after a fan asked if microtransactions or a season pass would be a part of Titanfall. Respawn stated that it is unknown if a season pass will be offered for the game, but microtransactions will definitely not be coming to the game:

"No microtransactions. I don't have any news on a season pass."

This is interesting news on many fronts. For one it looks as though Respawn is avoiding the controversy surrounding microtransactions, which many gamers feel as though are included only to grab more money for developers and publishers. This means that if Respawn is planning to add new character skins or characters to the game the content will be coming in more traditional DLC packages. However, by not confirming a season pass for the game is coming Respawn may be casting doubt on their DLC strategy, especially considering the game is weeks away from being released. Perhaps the company is unsure of how much DLC, if any, will come to the game and in what form, so Respawn is uncomfortable announcing a season pass for the game while the post-launch content is sorted out.

Titanfall is one of the games that gamers are most interesting in playing, as Respawn is set to try and shake up the shooter genre. Now only will the game feature futuristic combat from ground troops, but players will be able to control giant mechs that can fight both the human characters as well as other mechs. The game will be multiplayer only, with teams of up to six humans each mixed with AI controlled characters fighting it out on different maps. The game will have a story, and whichever team wins the match will change the story accordingly depending on what faction they represent.
