The unveiling of Samsung's new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is set for February 21 when the devices are also said be available for pre-order.

Interested customers can already pre-order the Korean company's new flagship device upon its launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February per a report from Android World.

The Galaxy S7, which is expected to run with either a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor matched with 4 GB worth or RAM, is a smartphone with a Quad HD screen that measures 5.1 inches diagonally.

The Galaxy S7 Edge has similar specs but with a curved display that is larger at 5.5 inches.

Both are expected to have a 12-megapixel rear camera and will be available in a single internal memory variant of 32 GB. Rumors cited by IT Pro show the possible return of a micro SD card slot for storage expansion.

In terms of battery life, the Galaxy S7 is packed with a 3000mAh battery while the S7 Edge will be boasting a massive 3600mAh battery.

Citing Android World, Gotta Be Mobile (GBM) and Sam Mobile both noted that the announcement of pre-order dates have proven the speculation true that the new flagship phones will be available on the market on March 11.

This information might be applicable only to the Netherlands where the report originated, but there is still a chance that Samsung fans in the U.S. can get their hands on the devices, especially if the Korean company is aiming for a global release similar to what they did for the Galaxy Note 5.

What is more exciting is that Android World's sources revealed that the Korean electronics company is planning to give away a free Gear VR -- a wearable virtual reality device to customers who pre-order.

According to the sources, Samsung fans can avail of the free gadget if they pre-order between February 21 and March 10, provided they register via a special action page.

For those who are unaware, the Gear VR is one of Samsung's most popular gadgets worth $99.

It works as a companion device for Samsung Galaxy Note5, S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge smartphones and boasts a Super AMOLED display that is perfect for virtual reality viewing.

Powered by Oculus, it can also be used as a personal theater screen that works best for watching films and shows on Netflix.

Using this device in gaming is another one-of-a-kind experience, thanks to its 96-degree field view and Gyro, accelerometer, and proximity sensors.

But the question still remains: Will Samsung really give this device away for free? The answer will be revealed in a little more than a week.
