Former One Direction lead singer Harry Styles has formally bid goodbye to the group's management team to focus on his solo career.

Billboard reported that Modest Management confirmed the news, noting that Styles has already signed a deal with CAA's Jeffrey Azoff.

"We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him. Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him," read a statement of Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee, executives of the Modest Management.

Though there is still no clear reason on why Styles left, Just Jared highlighted that Styles really wanted to have a solo career just like former bandmate, Zayn Malik, who earlier left the group prior to their indefinite hiatus.

According to The Sun, Styles could also end his links with Simon Cowell's record company Syco.

A source from the same report revealed that the 22-year-old English singer wanted to completely disassociate with One Direction.

"His new team will be about launching him as a solo superstar by around this time next year so the work is starting now," added the source.

The Sun added that Style's recent move has made it more obvious that he does not plan to reunite with One Direction.

"The message from Harry to the other boys is pretty clear that he doesn't see 1D together for a long time if at all," the source noted.

It was also highlighted that it was a hard decision for Modest to let him go, since he and the band spent a meaningful five years with the company.

But The Sun said that the management could have found consolation in their other big artists like Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Five Seconds of Summer, Olly Murs and Little Mix.

This is a disappointing news for a lot of One Direction fans who grieved Malik's leaving last year to "live a normal life."

It also came a few weeks after the group released the video for their new single "History."

La Prensa claimed that the video was released after the group's indefinite hiatus from the music scene. It claimed that the new song was the final track on their latest album "Made in the A.M."

Some of the lyrics of the songs include "You and I have a lot of history, could be the biggest thing the world has ever see... This is not the end, we can do it, you know, you know."

These lyrics speak a lot about the friendship and bond the five made when they were still working together.
