Those who are looking for bigger storage options and larger battery capacities for their smartphones are in for a treat when Apple's iPhone 7 Plus rolls out.

A report from MyDrivers via MacRumors claimed that the iPhone 7 Plus will be equipped with a whopping 256 GB storage option and a bigger 3,100 mAh battery as well, which would be a significant improvement over the current-generation iPhone 6S Plus.

The speculated additional size option for the iPhone 7 Plus would put the tech giant's highly anticipated smartphone above the current-generation iPad Pro, which has a maximum of 128 GB storage option, AppAdvice took note. If this rumor comes to fruition, Apple is expected to bring the 256 GB option to the iPad line, too.

MacRumors emphasized that the latest report didn't indicate whether the iPhone 7 Plus will be available in an entry-level 16 GB variant, or if the storage options will start at 32 GB and include 128 GB and 256 GB models.

The 3,100 mAh battery of the iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, is larger than the current-generation iPhone 6 Plus and 6S Plus, which are both equipped with a 2,750 mAh battery, MacDrivers wrote. This is good news for those who wish to use their mobile devices for longer periods of time.

Specs, Features, and More Speculations for the iPhone 7

Also rumored for the iPhone 7 is the removal of the home button, which would allow Apple to provide a bigger screen display. Other rumors for the handset are a thinner and lighter body, a waterproof technology just like its rival devices, and a Lightning connector that serves as the universal port for the power cord and headphone jack, CNET listed.

British publication The Week also claimed that the device will have a 6 mm thickness and a wraparound screen from a patent filed in September.

An iPhone 7 prototype that features wireless charging has also fueled rumors that Apple's next handset will not have a 3.5mm headphone socket. 9to5 Mac wrote that if the company is planning to have a thinner iPhone 7 than its predecessors, it makes sense that its headphone socket will be trimmed, probably with a 2.5mm one.

The iPhone 7 is expected to roll out this year, possibly in September if we were to follow Apple's usual timetable for releasing their products, CNET noted.

Remember that these are all speculations at the moment and Apple is yet to issue an official announcement about their upcoming products.
