Apple and Samsung have been bitter rivals in recent memory. Both tech giants are locked in a fierce competition to outshine each other. Now it seems like the old adage "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" is being applied here. The latest rumors have alleged that the South Korean tech giant's upcoming flagship will resemble the iPhone.

In a report with Fool, Samsung is looking to take a cue from their toughest competitor in an attempt to boost company sales. The website says that the Samsung Galaxy S6's sales didn't really match up to Samsung's expectations. Though the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 were among the hottest phones of the year, they really didn't match up to the Samsung Galaxy S4's sales. Samsung is looking to remedy that in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.

"The pressure-sensitive display...will be similar to that offered by rival Apple Inc. on the iPhone 6S earlier this year. The responsive display allows the phone to interpret different taps and touches depending on how the user presses on the touch screen," said Jonathan Cheng of The Wall Street Journal

According to the website, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy units will feature a pressure-sensitive force-touch display. This is reminiscent of Apple's current offerings, the 3D Touch Technology, which is present in its newest iPhones, namely the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In true Apple fashion, the tech giant improves their hardware and generally adds a user-feature upgrade.

The report also said that Samsung will acquire force-touch technology. Samsung will reportedly design the chips and sensors internally, with the help of its semiconductor business. However, it is also possible that Samsung could buy Synaptics' ClearPad 3700 Series flagship touch controller in order to achieve a March 2016 release date.

Forbes reported that Samsung's biggest feature on the Samsung Galaxy S7 could potentially anger Apple. The site also claims the microSD expandable storage will make a comeback on the Samsung Galaxy S7, albeit not on the Edge model, due to its curved sides. Samsung will also reportedly upgrade the camera with a new module that will allow it to get rid of the range's characteristic rear bump

The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be featuring a 3D Touch equivalent, USB Type-C charging, microSD expandable storage, a slimline camera and an iris scanner. Given this list, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is bound to be one of the hottest selling phones of 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be released in March 2016, with a price tag of $800.
