The Samsung Gear S2 is reportedly getting a permanent look. The Samsung Gear S2 is a smartwatch that actually works and is seen as a strong contender against Google. Samsung has been known to push the envelope with its devices, and it has done so with the Samsung Gear S2. 

In a report with Android Central, every year brings about the year of the smartwatch. While the concept of a smartwatch can take a bit of getting used to at first, these wearable watches are fast becoming the norm. Tech rivals, Samsung and Apple, have worked on the concept of pairing off their smartwatches with their devices.

Samsung's Gear S2 is the latest in Samsung's long line of smartwatches that covers both Android and Tizen operating systems. The Samsung Gear S2 is a timepiece that has an elegant design. It has a functioning rotating front bezel, that is running on Samsung's Tizen software. The South Korean tech giant says that the Tizen software is lightweight compared to Android Wear.

According to tech analysts, this should help the device perform better. Samsung explained that the update brings about several new features that improves performance, which every software update seems to claim. The update also comes with a number of bug fixes, reports Android Headlines .

The Samsung Gear S2 features a 360x360 circular AMOLED panel that presents a sharp and clear screen. Samsung also includes a sunlight sensor just under the screen. This allows the screen to detect daylight conditions and adjust screen brightness up to "outdoor" levels as needed. The smartwatch comes with preloaded apps many users would find useful. While the Samsung Gear S2 comes as a "maybe" purchase, the smatwatch is definitely the best smartwatch that is offered on the market today. 

The Samsung Gear S2 also has the ability to run on non-Samsung phones as long as it is running on the Android version 4.4 or above. Samsung has done an excellent job developing a reliable smartwatch for Android phones. There are even reports that the Samsung Gear S2 will be supporting the iPhone soon. The upcoming Samsung Gear S3 will also reportedly support iOS and Android devices. 

Battery life continues to be a major issue in many devices nowadays. The Samsung Gear S2's 2 to 3 days per charge really delivers true to promise. Many users of the smartwatch report getting at least 2 days out of the smartwatch. This battery life is amazing, considering it's running on a 250mAh battery.
