The red carpet premiere of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" in Los Angeles was toned down to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris, France.

Lionsgate joins the world in mourning the innocent victims of suicide bombings and shooting rampages in the City of Love by not taking the spotlight in media coverage and scaling down celebratory events of the release of the final installment of their massive blockbuster hit.

"Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday's Mockingjay 2 premiere," Lionsgate said in a statement.

Red carpet interviews have been cancelled and replaced by a fan session with the film's stars which includes Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence.

"We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion," the studio's statement explained.

This, says the outlet, happens before the official screening of the concluding film of the franchise based on the best-selling dystopian trilogy "The Hunger Games" penned by Suzanne Collins.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, part of the film was shot in the city months before the attack, making it a significant part of the movie's success.

"Mockingjay - Part 2" covers the second half of the final book in Collins' trilogy which interestingly consists of a war that is very much like what is now happening between France and the ISIS.

Evolving from a simple gladiator-like battle in an enclosed arena, the story of "The Hunger Games" became more politically-themed and violent as the Capitol's deceitful leader, President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) is faced with a massive revolution sparked a defiant Tribute: Katniss Everdeen.

In the second book "Catching Fire," Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta Melark (Hutcherson) were returned to The Hunger Games arena for the third Quarter Quell which turned out to be a plot to rescue the Mockingjay and bring her to District 13 to be the face of the rebellion.

As she continues to motivate residents of the Districts to fight back against the oppression of the Capitol in "Mockingjay," she then realizes that the revolution would result to many casualties including one of her loved ones.

With this and many other deaths happening around her, she is then forced to make a decision that would either make or break the new Panem that she and the others fought for.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is set to hit the U.S. theaters on November 20.
