If you've been disappointed by retail stores' lack of availability of the Microsoft Surface Book, you're not alone. According to Tech Times, the laptop sold out soon after its introduction and all models are still of stock.

As the outlet noted, the Surface Book, which Microsoft released along with their Surface Pro 4, impressed critics and won over many fans, selling out the device as soon as it went on sale.

With the holiday season looming, Microsoft's biggest problem is that the company does not have enough supply for the demand -- the top-of-the-line $3,199 Surface Book with 1TB storage and i7 processor is the first model to sell out and is still the one that fans are clamoring for, and if Microsoft Store is to be believed, the shipping date for an order placed today will be months away -- January 22, to be exact.

Those who are willing to compromise can get the model at a 512GB storage for a December 4 shipping date, and it costs $500 less than the 1TB version.

The Surface Book is available outside the Microsoft Store, though. Amazon has the 256GB i5 model in stock and is shipping at $1,899. The other models are also said to be available on Amazon, but from secondary sources that add around $200 to the retail price.

Best Buy does not have a 1TB version of the Surface Book listed on their website, but for those who are seeking other configurations, you're in luck --- all other models are available with the promised receipt date for November 20, making it the prime buy right now for the 512 G, 256GB and 128GB models. Otherwise, you will have to wait until 2016 to get your hands on the 1TB Surface Book.

So what's the fuss all about?

Microsoft tagged the Surface Book as "The ultimate laptop" as it transforms into three different configurations: a laptop, portable clipboard and creative canvas that adapts to the users need for their work, as well as their creativity.

It is built to be a "creative workhorse" with its 6th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, with up to 16GB of memory and an optional discrete graphics chip, which makes it possible to take on intesive creative tasks. The multi-touch PixelSense screen and Surface Pen are no joke either, enabling users to use desktop software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator --- and because it is a laptop, it also runs perfectly with Windows and Microsoft Office perfectly.

Are you waiting for your own nifty Surface Book?
