Fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" impatiently wait for more information on the film's sequel "Fifty Shades Darker" as more rumors about the franchise based on E.L. James' best-selling trilogy of the same title continue to surface.

Among the attention-catching speculations is the rumored casting of supermodel Cara Delevingne in the upcoming film due in theaters on 2017.

According to Australia Network News, the model-turned-actress joins A-list Hollywood star Charlize Theron in the list of rumored new cast members of the "Fifty Shades" franchise.

Based on a report from Fashion 'N Style, fans want the 23-year-old model to portray Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) former submissive, Leila Williams who was described by the Australian news site as a dangerous stalker of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).

The outlet even listed down three reasons why she would be "perfect" for the role which includes her "no-holds barred" attitude.

Fashion 'N Style also consider her popularity as one of the factors for her to fit the role perfectly because she is recognizable but not too popular that she would overshadow Johnson's female lead character.

Furthermore, the outlet sees her troubled past as an advantage since it would allow her to understand the Leila's character better.

Delevingne was born to a privileged but troubled family as her mother reportedly is writing her memoir on her bout against heroin addiction, Fashion 'N Style cited the New York Times.

While there may be some point to the fashion news outlet's analysis, Movie Pilot is quite doubtful that Delevingne would be joining the cast of "Fifty Shades Darker."

According to the outlet, the "Paper Towns" star is just not ready for such role yet considering how her recent movie based on a popular young adult novel by John Green did not quite reach the audience "who went crazy for The Fault in Our Stars."

"Delevingne still has plenty to prove to those who think she's just a model trying her luck in Hollywood, rather than a serious actor. But whilst the film wouldn't be beneath her, and female audiences have good awareness of her brand, it still strikes me as an odd fit," the report explained.

While it might be fun to speculate, all these information are still unofficial and would not be proven true until those who are directly involved in the production says so.

In fact, that might not be happening anytime soon considering how the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel has yet to be assigned a helmer, according to the Inquisitr.
