Sofia Vergara Supports Gal Pal Reese Witherspoon at American Cinemateque Awards

Sofia Vergara arrived at the 29th Cinematheque Awards in a show of support for friend and "Hot Pursuit" co-star Reese Witherspoon. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on Friday night. Both became close friends when they co-starred in the crime comedy earlier this year.

The star of "Modern Family" was in high spirits and said good things about the 39-year old star of "The Wild". She also called revealed that she called Witherspoon "My Little Pony" when she was touched by Reese's attempts to speak in Spanish while they were promoting "Hot Pursuit" to the Hispanic media.

"She was so gracious that she even spoke in Spanish on live TV with a very weird accent but at least she was trying," Sofia revealed to audiences in a report with Belfast Telegraph.

The 43-year-old actress had a lot of praise for the Witherspoon's petite physique, as well.

"She has the best skin and the biggest butt of any white woman in Hollywood," said Sofia. "You know, it's true-you have said it to me, too!"

Vergara was just one of the stars who honoured Witherspoon at the event. "Bride Wars" actress Kate Hudson also revealed that she and Witherspoon were not only close friends but close rivals as well. She also added that she had first met we were just 11 years old and since then the two have fostered a close bond.

"I can't even tell you the number of times I'd call my agent and I 'd say, 'What happened with that audition?' and he'd be like, 'Well, it's between you and Reese,'" the "Almost Famous" actress said of her "rivalry" with Reese.

"And the other thing that I always heard was, 'Well, Reese has the offer, but if she passes it may come to you.' So that's been my life." Hudson added.

Witherspoon was presented with the prestigious award for her numerous contributions to the world of film. In a report with E!Online, the "Walk The Line" actress said that she would have never gotten this far if it weren't for her husband, Jim Toth and three children Ava, Deacon and Tennesee.

She also added that achieving great things in Hollywood would not be possible if you did not have "an amazing family". She credited Toth for being her rock and supporter and seeing her through her pursuits and achievements thus far.
