A two legged Chihuahua found comfort with her feathery, Silkie chicken friend and became the best of friends. The two animals named Roo and Penny were both rescued and brought to a new home by a kind lady.

The lovely pets are now living with Alicia Williams, a client services receptionist at Duluth Animal Hospital. She both saved them in unpleasant situations and offered them happy homes, her house and office, and an ultimate love and friendship.

According to BarCroft TV, the pair will be often seen playing outside using Roo's special wheelchair. In fact, Penny sometimes rides on the canine's back.

"The first time Roo met Penny Chicken, we placed him in a bed on the floor and she wandered over to check him out," Alicia said. "She was very patient while he chewed on her toes, pulled at her feathers and rolled all over her."

"When he tired out and fell asleep she climbed on top of him as if he were an egg -- and they've been friends ever since." Alicia found the fluffy plumage in an animal facility as an experimental chicken.

"She was in a really bad situation. We in animal science (in college) visit all types of animal facilities, farms and things like that," she told Gwinnett Daily Post. "She was an experimental chicken in the program and she had run the course of the experiment, so that was it for her."

She felt so sorry for the fowl and so, she decided to ask its caretaker if she can take her home, which they definitely agreed. The little dog, on the other hand, was rescued when he was just seven weeks old in a trench on winter season.

Alicia told GDP that Roo was born with deformity and she thinks that the fur baby was abandoned by its first owner. "Roo had been born without the lower portions of his front legs, and someone had dropped him in an abandoned park in the middle of a freezing February day."

"He was only a couple pounds and very cold. Though we'd only had larger dogs thus far, we couldn't say no." Little Things cited that they decided to adopt him after they saw his poor situation.

"We decided to adopt him, knowing he would need special care, a wheelchair, and likely surgery in the future." Roo just had a successful operation earlier this year to fix his knees.
