The first show, which currently has a working title of "Hellfire," would be set in the same timeline as the 2014 X-Men film "Days of Future Past," CNet reported.

According to the outlet, this show would follow the story of a special agent who discovers that a power-hungry woman who has special abilities and is working with a society of millionaires known as "The Hellfire Club" towards a single goal: world domination.

Jonathan Davis, the president of creative affairs for 20th Century Fox Television, described "Hellfire" as something that would leave "rabid fans" as well as "newcomers" "addicted" to the Marvel series.

"'Hellfire' is a unique opportunity to be able to go deeper with some of these extraordinary characters, but to also dramatize new characters and give TV viewers a chance to experience this expanded world in an explosive way that everyone will be talking about," he explained.

"Legion," on the other hand, would follow the story of young David Haller who hears voices and sees visions in his head, making people and even "experts" in the field of mental health to consider him as schizophrenic.

But after an unexpected encounter with a fellow patient, Haller is faced with the possibility that all he sees and hears in his head are actually real.

Interestingly, Marvel and Fox's announcement about the two TV series refrained from making any reference to X-Men leader Professor Charles Xavier who, in the comic books, is actually the father of David Haller.

The two shows would have "X-Men" director Bryan Singer and producer Lauren Shuler Donner to act as the executive producer for the shows.

Noah Hawley, the creator of "Fargo" will be penning the pilot script for "Legion" while "Star Trek Beyond" writers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay would be working on the "Hellfire" pilot.

Variety further revealed that 20th Century Fox would be responsible for the physical production of the shows while Marvel TV would co-produce.

"We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years," Fox Broadcasting Company President David Madden said in a statement.

"These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting, and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history. We are so looking forward to working with this incredibly talented team," he added.
