It's not every day that you get to watch a movie where villains are the protagonists, which is why a lot of people are especially excited about David Ayer's upcoming "Suicide Squad".

However, as it is with new films, there is a lot of question about Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn -- for instance, if she makes a good villain (so far, fans have been divided on that) or how her character is going to be treated.

As Movie Pilot pointed out, Harley is a pretty recent addition to DC's universe, but she has been rebooted several times, and based on the trailer, it looks like she's going to be given yet another one.

Why this theory? The website noted that in the trailer, Harley is also seen as Dr. Harleen Quinzel, with her blonde hair and glasses, looking terrified as Jared Leto's Joker stands over her.

The site noted that the events in the trailer seem to revolve not only on Harley but on the violent nature on her relationship with Batman's nemesis as well, so if that's the case, then the film is going to give the audience a background of how she became the way she is -- by developing some sort of Stockholm Syndrome or else, driven insane by the torture.

In the New 52 comics that discussed much of Harley's history, Joker's lover supposedly ended up with the Suicide Squad after she was subdued by Black Canary after the Joker was imprisoned. Being in love with him, she had a breakdown when the Joker was deemed dead, turning herself into the police as she tries to retrieve his face -- which he cut out and left behind when he escaped Gotham.

But then, as News Australia explained, there are different Jokers in the DC Universe -- at some point, it's even one of the Robins -- Jason Todd -- who had a mental breakdown and became an incarnation of the villain. His line from the trailer, where he told her "Oh, I'm not gonna kill 'ya. I'm just gonna hurt you really, really bad," could also suggest that like Harley, he could have been tortured to transform into an off-kilter villain as well.

The film will premiere in theaters next August, so until then, all we can do is wait for more updates. Do you think a lot of origin stories will be shown in "Suicide Squad" and will Harley's be one of them?
