In a major roster revamp for the team, the Chicago Bears cut from its roster two-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Tim Jennings and running back Daniel Thomas.

CBS Chicago noted that trimming Jennings from the team came as a surprise though it said that the player "had been the Bears' sixth-string cornerback as of last week."

With his absence, the same report said that there is a possibility that the Bears will utilize Kyle Fuller, Alan Ball and Sherrick McManis as starting corners.

In his Twitter account, Jennings seemed to have accepted the team's decision to get rid of him.

"Positive vibes only. It's been great, Chicago," the cornerback tweeted.

In an interview with the Chicago Sun Times, Jennings said he still remember all those happy days with the team for the past years.

"[Playing for the Bears] meant a lot to me. I played my best football here in Chicago. Being part of the Monsters of the Midway with Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher, those were the good days," Jennings told the Chicago Sun Times.

The same report noted that cutting the cornerback from the team was "not a financial decision" for the Bears since he is still guaranteed with the $4.4 million base salary for the year.

"Coach [John] Fox is now coming in and changing things around, but it's going to be a good situation for Chicago. Chicago has a lot to be excited about, but I think it's time for me to move on," the cornerback added.

Asked about his health issue which has mainly to do to with his knee surgery last February, Jennings said he was on his way to fully recovering.

"As camp and time went on, it was getting better. I was moving better. Coaches [saw] I was moving a little bit better. It still wasn't where I wanted it to be, but I feel like we were making progress," he told the Chicago Sun Times.

As for 27-year-old Thomas, NFL Trade Rumors reported that the former Miami Dolphins player signed to a 1-year deal last June with the Bears after not being able to perform well in Miami.

Jennings and Thomas were not the only players released by the Bears on Sunday. Other footballers in the team who were either released or waived included Malcolm Bronson, Kevin Greene, Cameron Jefferson, Jeremy Kelley, Louis-Jean, Rick Lovato, Levi Norwood, Olsen Pierre, Chris Pantale and John Chiles.

In addition, CBS Chicago said that final cuts on the team's roster are expected to be finished by Saturday.
