Chicago Bulls point guard and one of NBA's biggest names, Derrick Rose, has been accused of drugging and raping his ex-girlfriend with the help of his two male friends two years ago.

TMZ initially reported that the complainant, whose name was not revealed in any document, dated the basketball star from 2011 to 2013.

Rose is being sued by a woman who claims the NBA superstar and two of his friends drugged and gang raped her.

The alleged victim claimed that during their relationship, Rose pressured her to masturbate in front of him, have sex with his friends and join group sex with a bunch of people she did not know.

She reportedly never agreed to do any of these.

In August 2013, however, the female accuser said that the basketball player and his two close friends Ryan Allen and manager Randall Hampton drugged her so they can gang rape her.

"The plaintiff says she escaped the house with a friend, but later that night, Rose and his friends broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was incapacitated," added TMZ.

The victim claimed that she could only recall bits of the incident but she was certain that the three forced her into having sex.

In explaining why it took her two years to file the case, the complainant said she did not want to do it at first because she was "ashamed and embarrassed" and that she was concerned her family would find out.

Deadspin revealed that the complaint named 13 defendants and 10 other "John Does" and listed violations such as sexual battery and trespassing.

Lisa Cohen, Rose's lawyer, said that the case is just an attempt to destroy the name of the basketball player with something that has no basis.

"The plaintiff's allegations are completely false and without any factual basis. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete. Mr. Rose was in a non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship with the plaintiff for over two years," Cohen's statement read.

The lawyer also claimed that there were no initial complaints about her client and the issue only came up because the accuser wants to ask for millions of dollars from the Bulls players.

"This is the third lawyer the plaintiff has retained in this matter. Two years have passed since Mr. Rose ended the consensual relationship with the plaintiff, and her claims are as meritless now as they were two years ago," Cohen said.

"We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous."

According to Chicago Tribune, Rose also brushed off the rape allegations, saying that they as untrue.

"I am just focusing on staying healthy and getting ready for the season. I am not going to comment other than to say: I know the truth, and am confident I will be proven innocent," the basketball player said.
