Entering the new Premier League season, the Arsenals looked like real contenders especially after signing of goalkeeper, Petr Cech. He is one of the best shot stoppers in world football.

Cech made 486 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions. He was sold to Arsenal because Jose Mourinho favored the emergence of 23 year old Thibaut Courtois.

The Czech Republic international made his debut for the Arsenals in the community shield against his former club, winning 1-0 and his first title in the new uniform. Cech made an unforgettable Premier League debut for the Arsenals as his mistakes led to two goals for West Ham.

The first goal came from a Cheikhou Kouyate header following a free kick from new West Ham signing, Dmitri Payet. Cech came out and tried to punch clear, but Kouyate beat him to it in the 43rd minute.

Just 12 minutes after the break, Mauro Zarate doubled the Hammers lead with a rocket from long-range. It highlighted Cech's poor performance for the night as he reacted slowly, thinking it might go over the post.

According to GOAL.com, West Ham ended their eight-year losing streak at the Emirates Stadium. New manager, Slaven Bilic was in the hot seat after West Ham was eliminated in the Europa League by Romanian side Astra last week.

"It was a big win for us, not only because we got three points, not only because we won, but because we beat a team that is one of the title contenders this year and had played really well this pre-season.Not only that, but it was a London derby. That makes it a bit more special."  Bilic said after the match on NBCSN's broadcast report by BleacherReport.

It was not all bad for Arsene Wenger's side as they outplayed West Ham on paper. The Arsenals held the possession more, and shot 22 times with six on goal.

They just can't solve the Hammers' defense and Petr Cech made poor judgment. Hector Bellerin was out with a thigh injury and Alexis Sanchez is still working on his fitness after the Chile's Copa America campaign.

West Ham's 16 years and 243 days-old midfielder Reece Oxford made history as the second-youngest player to start a Premier League match. Jose Baxter holds the record at 16 years and 191 days when he made his debut for Everton in 2008.

Payet and Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus also made their debuts for West Ham. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud, and Santi Cazorla all had chances to score for the Arsenals but in the end it was West Ham who emerged victorious.
