"Magic Mike" has done it again after the sequel of male-stripper film "Magic Mike XXL" opened big with a hefty $9.315 million on Wednesday and garnered a final domestic box office record of $113.7 million.

These big numbers, says Vanity Fair, is all because of Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum's and screenwriter Reid Carolin's "Aha!" moment in a hot tub.

According to the report, the two did not expect a sequel for the 2012 hit film "Magic Mike," which was mostly based on Tatum's experience in the industry of male entertainers where most of the scenes were the actor's anecdotes of what actually happened.

"The only thing that we knew was creatively really left on the table was the [stripper] convention and a few other stories," the 35-year-old "Dear John" star explained before his partner shared how they reached the climax (no pun intended) of their brainstorming for the film.

"There might have been a bottle of bourbon involved. I went out there and got into the hot tub with him. And I was like, 'Dude, what happened in real life when you were riding out to this stripper convention?" Carolin recalled, emphasizing that this was the moment when "Magic Mike XXL" was born.

Now, the film, which reunites five male strippers from the 2012 surprise blockbuster, has already reached a high rank in the box office even surpassing the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring "Terminator Genisys" with a three-fold head-start during Monday's pre-sales from Regal, AMC and Cinemark.

According to Deadline, 96 percent of the flick's audience on July 1 comprised females, a record that only the "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" was able to achieve.

This reportedly signifies that the trend now shows the ladies' demand for "edgier fare," much like what happened with "Sex and the City" and the more recently released "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Joining Tatum in the stripper-themed movie are Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn, Alex Pettyfer and Olivia Munn, with the addition of a couple of new characters.

The supersized sequel now includes Elizabeth Banks, who plays Paris; Amber Heard, playing Zoe; Donald Glover as Andre, Jada Pinkett Smith as Rome; Andie MacDowell, portraying Nancy; Michael Strahan as Augustus and tWitch as Malik.

"Magic Mike XXL" was given an "R" rating for its "strong sexual content, pervasive language, some nudity and drug use," says E! Online.

It was also given an A-Cinema Score, a more notable feat than the first film's "B" grade back in 2012.
