Speculations about a new smartphone from Google have heightened after a photo of the alleged Google Nexus 5 (2015) was posted in Android Pit, claiming to be the much-awaited second generation of the phone.

According to the report, the newest addition to the family of Nexus Android phones was spotted on the official Android website.

While the photo was indeed in the official Android website, the International Business Times noted that the Nexus logo, which was usually placed at the back of their smartphones, cannot be found anywhere on the device.

On the other hand, it looks a little bit more like the first Nexus 5 though it has a wider body which, says the report, is contrary to the traditional Nexus narrow-width phones.

Previous news revealed that the next generation of Google's Nexus 5 may be scheduled to be launched between October and November this year, though recently, some claim that it would be sooner than that.

According to a Geek Snack source, the Nexus 5 (2015) would be joining Google's latest operating system called the Android M during its launch by the end of the third quarter.

While there had been no confirmation on the site if the phone really is the highly-anticipated Nexus 5 2nd Generation or if its launch would indeed be earlier than what was previously reported, avid Android users are drooling for more information about this particular line of smartphones.

Here are the top five reasons why:

Selfie-Perfect Camera

After the dawn of the selfie age, smartphones have been modified and improved to suit users' insatiable craving to snap self-taken photos.

The next generation of Nexus 5 is expected to do the same since Geek Snack revealed that there is a good chance it would have a 5-megapixel front camera and a wide-angled lens matched with its improved rear 16MP snapper, which reportedly comes with an image stabilization feature.

Software

Since it is rumored to be released with the latest Android operating system, it should not come as a surprise that the Nexus 5 (2015) would be one of the first devices to use it.

Users should expect the new Nexus 5 to run on stock Android M instead of a custom UI similar to the Xperia UI, TouchWiz or UX 4.0.

It would be matched with 3GB RAM and Snapdragon 810, with the option of having 64 and 128GB internal storage.

A hint from Android Pit reveals that the 'M' may stand for "marshmallow," for those who are curious.

Body and Design

Geek Snack also hinted at the possibility of this device to sport a sturdier body, which would be covered with a type of resistant carbon fiber.

The site's sources also leaked that the Nexus 5 (2015) design may also include a finger-print sensor at the back of the device for easy access.

Quick and Easy Charging

Though the new Nexus 5 may not be able to boast great battery life since there had not been a single smartphone that was able to live to that promise, it presents an alternative: faster charging.

According to Android Pit, this new Nexus phone would include the Qualcomm Quick-Charge 2.0 which vows to make charging quicker, no matter what the battery capacity is.

Geek Snack also revealed that it would include a wireless charging feature that would surely come in handy.

Price

While there are still no official details on how the new Nexus 5 would cost, a Geek Snack source revealed that it would be introduced at a very affordable price tag that's less than $500.
