If you are one of those who still aren't over the fact that Kit Harington's Jon Snow was killed in last week's "Game of Thrones" season finale, you are not alone. In fact, book readers and series watchers only have each other's support to count on for the next few months, as the next installment from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" is yet to be released, which means that nobody other than the author knows for sure what's next for the world of Westeros.

However, just because the books can't confirm theories for now does not mean that fans haven't thrown them together on the Internet, and here are some of the most popular predictions following the events of last season:

1) Some familiar characters may finally make appearances next season, as casting calls have leaked on the fan website, Vox noted that some characters may finally make their appearance, including Theon's uncle, Euron, and Sam's father, Randyll.

2) With only two books left of Martin's series, and only two seasons left in the hands of showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss, it seems that major events like Dany's invasion of Westeros, as well as the attack of the White Walkers should be prominent storylines for next season, added Vox.

3) Cersei's troubles are far from over. As Bustle noted, the queen has "no real power to speak of," and after the humiliation she endured from having to walk naked through town, she will still have to face trial for the punishment of her crimes. Cersei is unlikely to rise again. However, a Lannister always pays his debts, so there should be some payback to look forward to, even though its success is not guaranteed.

4) An important flashback may see the return of several characters, although not of the actors. The casting call leaked by Watchers On the Wall listed several young characters for one-time roles that could easily be younger versions of Robert Baratheon or Ned Stark, one being "a large boy" who is "big and tall but not fat," and with "brown hair and blue eyes," while the other is a 7-year-old with "dark brown hair and green eyes."

5) Arya may abandon her new life with the Faceless Men, but Vox noted that with her sight gone, she may also have to prove her worth by going on an important mission that will lead her back to Westeros.

Of course, with so many story lines to figure out, including the fate of Rickon (who has been absent since the third season), and Sansa's escape from Winterfell, there is still one thing that fans have been asking for a while now: Where is Gendry? Is he still rowing somewhere?
