The long-anticipated iPad Pro has toured the headlines once again after its alleged blueprint leaked online. The image was obtained by "frequent gadget leaker" and tech editor Steve Hemmerstoffer, TechnoBuffalo reported.

The blueprint showcases the entire iPad Pro from all angles, depicting four speakers on its top and bottom sides. TechnoBuffalo also cited the appearance of a power button, volume controls and an unknown port yet to be specified.

However, according to the outlet, the current blueprint doesn't show a second port, contrary to earlier leaks.

The blueprint hails from December 2014, Geeky Gadgets cited, which suggests the possibility of some more changes before the actual device arrives.

If the leak is to be trusted, Phone Arena noted that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will not only be a huge tablet, but also very thin. The outlet cited its purported dimensions, which come at 9.17 x 12 x 0.28in (223 x 306 x 7.2mm).

As for the single port, Phone Arena is convinced that it could either be a USB Type C port or a Lightning port, though the former is seen to be more likely.

The iPad Pro, also dubbed to be the iPad Air Plus / iPad Plus, is expected to pack Apple's new A9 or A9X processor, at least 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage options, Geeky Gadgets wrote.

In addition, it is touted to sport a design similar to October 2014's iPad Air 2, the second-thinnest tablet known so far.

As told by Phone Arena, the iPad Pro is expected to arrive in December, which puts us about seven months away from another unique Apple product. With the Cupertino giant keeping mum on details, these recent information are still best taken with healthy pinches of salt.

The iPad Pro is purported to come at a more expensive price than the iPad Air 2, with a starting cost expected at $699.

Meanwhile, citing the latest IDC figures, Patently Apple reported that Apple remains to be champion in the tablet arena. Despite five consecutive quarters of negative annual shipment growth, Apple led the Q1 2015 race, leaving Samsung, Lenovo, ASUS, LG Electronics and other manufacturers behind.

Based on IDC's report, the Cupertino giant has shipped 12.6 million iPads in the first quarter, capturing 26.8% of market share. Samsung, its long-time rival, fell closely at 9 million tablets for a market share of 19.1%.

Patently Apple cited Jitesh Ubrani's remarks, Senior Research Analyst, Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker, who said, "Although the tablet market is in decline, 2-in-1's are certainly a bright spot."

"While 2-in-1, or detachables, still account for a small portion of the overall market, growth in this space has been stunning as vendors like Asus, Acer, and E-FUN have been able to offer products at a fantastic value; and vendors like Microsoft have been able to drive growth at the high end with devices like the Surface Pro 3," the analyst went on.

What do you think about the iPad Pro's chances of raking sales for Apple?
