The alleged successor to the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S7, continues to gain traction in the grapevine community. Samsung's current flagship is generally received with positive reviews, even branded as the "smartphone of your dreams."

While it may need some thorough analysis before one concludes that Samsung gets better every time (think of the plastic-to-metal evolution, for instance), the Galaxy S7 has not been confirmed, and it is yet to prove itself.

The new Galaxy S device is expected to arrive next year, battling against Apple's iPhone 7. To date, the latter has garnered outstanding claims among rumor mills, but because it's also rumored, details are best taken with healthy pinches of salt.

Let's look at five of the most interesting specs and features speculated to pack in the Galaxy S7:

1. Foldable Design

According to ValueWalk, early rumors claimed that Samsung will increase production of the handset's curved screen, making a Galaxy S7 Edge "a truly mainstream device." This may not be impossible, considering that the Korean tech giant successfully crafted the Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge.

2. Stunning Display

Just like the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S7 is touted to come with a 4K screen. International Business Times cited that this will come in a 5.5-inch AMOLED panel.

For those who haven't heard yet, Sharp has reportedly announced its intention to produce 4K displays in 5.5-inch phablets, utilizing IGZO technology.

3. Improved Battery Life

Android Origin is convinced that battery life is one of the Galaxy S6's disappointing areas. The device packs a 2,550 mAh power source, a downgrade from its predecessor's 2,800 mAh capacity.

That being said, Android Origin expects Samsung to "cram in a larger battery and a number of optimizations" for the Galaxy S7.

4. Upgraded Camera

As told by Realty Today, rumors have it that the Galaxy S7 will pack a 30 MP main camera and a 7 MP or 10 MP front snapper. These look to be absolute upgrades from the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which both came with 16 MP (rear) and 5 MP (front) cameras.

5. New Processor

Qualcomm is reportedly eyeing Samsung for the production of its next-generation chips, the Snapdragon 820, SamMobile noted. The decision is believed to be made following Samsung's ability of producing 14-nm process chips, the type found in the Galaxy S6.

Considering such detail, it may be likely that the Galaxy S7 opts for the new Snapdragon processor. GeekSays supports this thought, adding that the chip will feature a custom CPU, graphics core and built-in LTE modem.

Retail price remains speculated at this point, but for an insight, it is thought to sell for "a very high price."

What can the Galaxy S7 improve from the current flagship? Sound off in the comments section.
