As far as current leaks are concerned, the LG G4 will come covered in leather.

As noted by PCMag, LG has already sent invites for a special media event on Apr. 28, set in New York City. The long-anticipated LG G4 is expected to star in the occasion.

Today, rumor mills are buzzing over a series of images, allegedly representing the handset's final build. It's worth noting that they all suggest leather, among a spillage of specs and features.

Contained in a stealthy microsite, the photos are discovered by leaker Evan Blass, The Verge reported. According to the outlet, the original source housed "dozens of official renders of the new smartphone."

The unannounced site is no longer available, Android Authority said, but the web nevertheless succeeded in keeping memorabilia.

For instance, looking at this image, we can see six different colors in leather, while the other three come in what-might-be plastic.

Because all we have are images, we can't really tell whether the device sports authentic leather or another leather-like material. But we're sure to find out once LG takes off its wraps.

While Engadget is convinced that "a lot of the text" is placeholder, the outlet took note of the leaks' f/1.8 camera, supported by an infrared color accuracy sensor, second-generation image stabilization and a full manual mode.

The Verge mentioned the reappearance of the LG Quick Circle case, which basically allows users to peek on their notifications even if the cover is closed.

Meanwhile, LG seems determined in maintaining hype before the arrival of its next flagship. As reported by the Wall Street Journal blog, the company will allow "select customers" to test the device before it hits the market.

The source took note of Juno Cho's remarks, president of LG's mobile division, who said, "We're putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of user experience, beyond benchmarks and speed tests."

The testers, composed of 4,000 random customers, are encouraged to provide feedback regarding hardware and software features. These consumers will come in 15 different countries, including the United States.

Other purported specs contained in the leaks include a 5.5-inch quad HD screen, a microSD card slot and a removable 3,000 mAh battery. Its dimensions are placed at 149.1 mm x 75.3 mm x 8.9 mm.

For the sake of comparison, the recently-revealed Samsung Galaxy S6 packs a 5.1-inch super AMOLED QHD screen, measuring 143.4 mm x 70.5 mm x 6.8 mm. Surprisingly, the new Samsung flagship ditched storage expansion and replaceable battery.

The LG G4's price remains unconfirmed, but for an insight, AndroidPIT predicted, "Unless LG brings out multiple versions of the LG G4 (like a lite/mini version), the LG G4 price will set you back at least 400 USD."
