Gamers and WWE fans are anticipating the rumored release of "WWE 2K16" in Playstation 4 and Xbox One which will reportedly happen in autumn. The question is: Who will be the wrestler on the cover of the new installment?

An earlier WrestleZone article said that players will have to wait a little more as 2K Sports will reveal the initial details of the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from June 16 to 18.

"WWE 2K15" can be considered as "one of the most disastrous games in WWE history" and this will give 2K Sports the chance to improve on the weak points of the current game, WhatCulture noted.

"We should expect a marked improvement for more than one aspect of the game," the outlet added.

Fans have expressed the need for the game to have a "reduced and specific roster" as WWE 2K16 News said that it will raise the standards of the game with it focusing on the skills of an elite list of players. An Attack of the Fanboy report discussed that there were already wrestlers getting scanned for "WWE 2K16" in some recent WWE events.

This was even confirmed by NXT wrestler Sasha Banks on her Twitter account after a fan asked if she was scanned to be a character of "WWE 2K16." She replied with a "Yes, I did" even before the game's publisher announced its existence.

With everyone curious on who will appear in the cover of the game, here are some of the wrestlers who can possibly grace the "WWE 2K16" cover:

* Ronda Rousey

After her appearance at WrestleMania 31 and teaming up with The Rock, there have been rumors that Rousey will soon make a comeback in WWE. WhatCulture even said that she is ready to take on Stephanie McMahon in WrestleMania next year after the UFC female bantamweight champion received loud cheers from the audience at the Levi's Stadium. If her comeback is really possible, appearing on the cover of the game will be quite interesting and explosive.

* AJ Lee

Lee is one of the most notable female wrestlers in "WWE 2K15" but she might have a slim chance of appearing on the cover as a separate Attack of the Fanboy article said that she has retired from the WWE, though the reason still remains unclear.

Rumors are circling that the female wrestler is pregnant but she has yet to confirm it. "With her retirement happening in April, there's a chance she might not make it into 'WWE 2K16.' The annual WWE video game is usually out in October or November," Attack of the Fanboy added.

* Charlotte

If Lee is leaving, WhatCulture said that Charlotte will have the chance to be the frontrunner of the women's card as she will go against Paige and Nikki Bella.

* Damien Mizdow

Because of his popularity, Mizdow is one of the most anticipated players in the WWE game but WhatCulture noted that "he has yet to make his bow as part of the WWE/2K Sports faction."
