Ronda Rousey's memoir "My Fight, Your Fight" has reportedly been banned by retail giant Walmart for being "too violent."

According to TMZ, the retail store initially denied banning the upcoming book from its stores but it added that they learned that Walmart refused to sell the memoir because Rousey is too violent.

Walmart spokesperson Danit Marquardt clarified the rumors with TMZ, saying that they have been anticipating Rousey's book since last year and added it can already be ordered on the company's website.

Marquardt, however, noted that the book will not be on display in their stores but buyers can instead pick up their copies from any Walmart store if they order it online. TMZ said this only means one thing: "the book will be in the stock room, but not out for customers to see."

"When the book is officially released on May 12, customers interested in purchasing it can use the 'site to store' feature and pick it up at a local store," Marquardt said in a similar Jezebel report.

Asked about the "too violent" reason, the Walmart spokesperson refused to comment but explained that there were a few reasons why they decided to offer it online only.

"There's a variety of factors that we look at when determining what items to offer our customers. At this point we've chosen to offer this particular title to our customers online. We'll continue to watch how customers respond," the Walmart spokesperson told Jezebel, adding that their online store sells millions of items compared to the 150,000 in a Walmart Supercenter.

Rousey's book, according to Page Six, will be out on May 12 and has reportedly pre-sold thousands of copies at Barnes & Noble.

Publisher Judith Regan said Walmart's decision to sell it online only came as shocking to her. "I'm shocked, shocked to discover that censorship is going on in America!" she added.

During her TV guesting at "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" on NBC, Rousey said that a lot of people asked her to stop fighting because it is "anti-woman" and "anti-feminist."

"They're like making these crazy arguments that it's anti- woman. This is the most pro-woman sport in the world. I'm the number one draw in all the UFC and I'm a woman. Fighting isn't a man's thing. It's a human thing. To say it's anti-woman is anti-feminist," Rousey was quoted by Breitbart as saying.

Aside from the release of her book next month, the UFC female bantamweight champion is also part of the movie "Furious 7," which opened in cinemas on Friday and she is expected to be on the "Entourage" movie this June.
