Having been compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, Apple's iPad Air 3 is one of 2015's most anticipated tablet devices.

Users would remember that its predecessor, the iPad Air 2, has been launched alongside the iPad Mini 3 back in October. The 6.1 mm device is currently known as the world's second-thinnest tablet, just a millimeter more than the Dell Venue 8 7840 tablet.

Nevertheless, the new iPads' youth hasn't stopped rumor mills from making the earliest predictions.

For those who may not know, the iPad Air 3 is suggested to launch beside iOS 9. The new operating system is expected on the second half of this year, the Inquisitr reported.

That means we could set our eyes the earliest in July, though it's best to take such insight with a healthy pinch of salt.

We've curated five of the most interesting specs and features expected in the iPad Air 3:

1. An Upgraded Processor

What could be more pleasing to hear than an upgraded processor? According to ipadair3update.com, the iPad Air is expected to house a speedier A9 or A9X chip, facilitating better performance.

The iPad Air 2, packing an A8X processor, offers 40% faster performance and 180 times faster graphics compared to its predecessor, the outlet said.

2. A Resolution Boost

A better display is always appreciated, and that could be tantamount to more stunning visuals and richer colors. Macworld is convinced that the iPad Air 3 will get a resolution boost, approaching the 401 ppi (pixels per inch) density of the iPhone 6 Plus.

3. Wireless Charging

Wireless charging is a feature that "Apple users could really take advantage of," Gotta Be Mobile said.

While the outlet is convinced that such feature may be more ideal in smartphones, its presence among tablets will certainly provide more convenience to users.

GBM went on to indicate that Apple is "always good" at selecting niche technologies, but in the meantime, we'll have to hear more from the Cupertino giant.

4. Improved Cameras

The PCAdvisor wrote that it does not expect to see much changes in the iPad Air 3's cameras. However, with the iPad Air 2's main snapper upgraded from 5 MP to 8 MP, we're looking forward to see changes in the next device -- at least in features, if not megapixel bumps.

5. Other Specs & Features

Innov8tiv cited a slew of expected specs and features, such as a 7-inch screen with 4K resolution, 3 GB of RAM, advanced Touch ID, 4G connectivity, 128 GB of on-board memory, waterproofing and dust-proofing abilities.

Details on the iPad Air 3's pricing are scarce, but for an insight, Macworld predicts, "Most likely it will cost pretty much what the iPad Air 2 cost when it launched."
