"Game of Thrones" breakout actor Jason Momoa said that he's "in for the long haul" as Aquaman for DC Comics Universe, and his first appearance as the ruler of the seven seas will be in next year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

In an interview with the Associated Press, the 35-year-old actor shared, "Yesssss! Aquaman is here! I'm here! Know what I mean? That's what my audition process was. No - I don't know what it's going to be like yet. I'm in for the long haul. It's an honor."

He also said that he trusts the director, Zack Snyder, adding, "Zack, he had me at hello. Literally, when he told me what he wanted to do with the character and what he wanted to do with the world. There's no script written yet for certain things, but I listened to his ideas, trust him."

Movie Web noted that Aquaman will likely be appearing in four movies starting with "Batman v Superman" next year. After that, there's going to be "Justice League Part 1" for 2017, a standalone "Aquaman" film in 2018, and "Justice League Part 2" that is set for 2019.

However, what excited Momoa most about playing a superhero is the fact that it's one of the very few projects that his sons can actually watch him in. He shared, "I'm known for playing rough characters. They're not really allowed to see those things. So I mean it's going to be exciting just for my kids to see poppa play with Batman and Wonder Woman and Superman. So it's really cool that my kids can do that."

Casting Momoa as Aquaman, according to Screen Rant, has been effective way for Comic book fans to finally dismiss the notion that Arthur Curry / Orin of Atlantis is a "wimpy superhero," as DC's film version brought a tribal society alongside the classic superhero cast.

The tattooed look with significant Polynesian imagery also shows that the film is seeking more diversity for the superhero roles. However, despite the new look that Snyder has in mind for Aquaman, there is still no news on what the storyline will be, but if his pitches is enough to sell Momoa to stay for "the long haul" and with his past films in mind, there is no question that he can pull off Aquaman's story and turn the mostly under-appreciated hero into a badass one.

We will first get a peek of Jason Momoa as Aquaman next year, with a minor role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" alongside Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
