Gone are Christina Aguilera's signature blonde locks. The pop superstar is now sporting a much darker hair for her role in ABC's "Nashville."

Aguilera debuted her new look via Twitter. In one of the photos she posted, the 34-year-old entertainer was seen studying her lines while wearing a flannel shirt. One snapshot features Aguilera's backside with her brunette waves in full view. Check them out below.

The "Genie in a Bottle" singer signed on in ABC's "Nashville" for a multi-episode appearance. She will portray the character of Jade St. John, "a chart-topping pop princess who yearns to unleash her inner twang on a country record - and might finally get the opportunity during a two-night stand in Music City," TV Line described.

Aguilera is set to return as one of the judges in the new season of "The Voice." The pop star will also executive produce an ABC Family dramedy titled "Hearts and Clubs," an hourlong show which centers around Las Vegas entertainers "as they fall in and out of love in the ultimate city of Sin," Deadline reported.

Latest News On Christina Aguilera's Upcoming Album

Aside from her commitments in television, Aguilera is also busy working on her eighth studio album, the follow-up of her "Lotus" record which was released in 2012.

In an interview with Extra TV in January, the singer talked about how fellow "The Voice" judge Pharrell Williams helped her put together the upcoming album.

"During my pregnancy, I had a meeting with him and just connected on where I want to take the next album. And we started talking music, and he has one song in particular that I love," she shared.

Aguilera continued, "I just have to make sure it's right, and it's genuine and it's heartfelt, and I'm very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully. I've been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I'm really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together."

Production duo Da Internz (Kosine and Tuo) are working on Aguilera's upcoming album, MTV reported. When asked about the project, Kosine revealed that the pop star's new music would feature "upper echelon music with ratchet hood drums." Tuo added that the album will be "14k caviar ratchet, serving with three fingertips."

Earlier this year, a leaked alleged track list for Aguilera's eighth studio album has circulated the Internet. It featured collaborations with other artists such as Williams, Iggy Azalea, Rihanna, A Great Big World, and Jacquie Lee, Pop Crush reported. The track list, however, remains unofficial and Aguilera's reps didn't confirm it.
