Marco Antonio Solís is set to release a new album titled "Por Amor a Morelia" or "For Love to Morelia."

The album, which will come out via indie label distributor Select-O-Hits, will feature live recordings of the songs Solís performed during a concert in his birth city of Morelia, which is located in the Mexican state of Michoacán, Billlboard reported.

Solís started his career in the 1980s with romantic regional group Mexican group Los Bukis under the Latin indie record label Fonovisa. He then went on to venture as a solo artist in 1996 and remained with Fonovisa until "it was acquired by Univision and later, Universal," Billboard explained.

The Mexican artist renewed his contract with Universal in 2013 through Universal Music Latino. Now that the contract has expired, Solís is distributing his live album as "a free agent," the news outlet noted. Other artists signed by Universal Music Latino are Paulina Rubio, Alejandro Sanz, and Juanes, a separate report from Billboard stated.

"I have made this decision with God's help, convinced that together with the Universal team, with which I feel at home, we will face new challenges with the enthusiasm, dedication and expertise that characterizes them. I still have so much music to share and I know that the best is yet to come," the 55-year-old singer-songwriter said at the time, as quoted by Billboard.

Solís is known as "one of the most eloquent voices in Latin music and one of its top contemporary songwriters, with a repertoire that straddles both pop and romantic regional Mexican music," the news outlet wrote. He has the highest record of eleven No. 1 albums on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart.

Solís' top-selling albums include "En Vivo," "Mas de Mi Alma," "Tu Amor o Tu Desprecio" and "Trozos de Mi Alma, Vol. 2," with the latter earning the musician a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album, Vegas News reported. On September 11, Solís will perform in the Mexican Independence Day weekend at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now which costs from $74 - $250, with applicable tax and fees, Vegas News noted. Tickets may be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.

Aside from his commitment in the Mexican Independence Day celebrations, Billboard reported that Solís will play 12 concert dates in Mexico beginning March 28. The tour, named "Gracias Por Estar Aquí" ("Thanks for Being Here"), has stopped in Colombia, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
