Today, all eyes are set on Samsung's "Unpacked" event, hoping to see a new flagship in the form of the Galaxy S6. The Korean tech giant has been dropping its most mysterious teasers, leaving the bewildered only wanting more.

The wait will soon be over as "Unpacked" launches on Mar. 1, 6:30 p.m. CET (12:30 p.m. EST). The event takes place at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB). Live streaming will be available via Samsung's official YouTube channel and global blog.

However, looking back at previous information, another Galaxy smartphone could potentially see the light of day.

Though it isn't part of the high-end S-line, the Galaxy Grand 3 has been speculated to arrive late December or early January. Of course, rumors don't always get things right, but with events fast approaching, the possibilities are endless.

Will March give birth to a new Grand handset? Well, GSMArena expects the idea, but in the meantime, here are five of the Galaxy Grand 3's purported specs:

1. Thinner & Lighter Architecture

While there has been no confirmation coming from Samsung, Phone Arena previously reported that the Galaxy Grand 3 has been approved by China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center.

As told by the outlet, the Galaxy Grand 3 carries model number SM-G7200, sporting a 5.25-inch 720p screen. The device is given a measurement of 146 x 74.8 x 7.95 mm and 140 g, hence touted to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.

Users would know that the Galaxy Grand 2 weighs 163 grams, measuring 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm.

2. Full HD Video Support

According to NDTV, the Galaxy Grand 3's alleged benchmark presented details of a 12 MP main camera (with auto-focus) and a 4.7 MP front snapper. In addition, these lenses are said to be capable of shooting full HD videos.

This is a clear upgrade from the Galaxy Grand 2, which packed 8 MP by rear and 1.9 MP in front.

3. A Bigger Screen

NDTV added that the Galaxy Grand 3 is rumored to have a larger 5.5-inch screen, contrary to other claims citing a 5.25-inch panel. The idea is supported by galaxys6samsung.com, telling that the handset will even be water- and dust-proof.

4. 64-Bit Processor

The Galaxy Grand 3 is said to arrive with a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor (clocked at 1.2 GHz), Stuff cited. The outlet went on to indicate that the chip is "on the less powerful end of the 64-bit chip spectrum," discouraging expectations on drastic changes.

5. Expandable Storage

As much as 64 GB of microSD space could support the Galaxy Grand 3's 16 GB internal, galaxys6samsung.com noted. Allegedly, the device houses 1.5 GB of RAM. GSMArena listed Android 4.4.4 KitKat as its shipping operating system.

In terms of price, the handset is pegged to retail for $385, as we've previously noted.
