Apple's Macbook Air Retina is expected to have killer features. According to the International Business Times, the company patented new technology that will allow MacBooks to top their game.

The website reports that biometric sensors are part of the MacBook patent sighting, which allows Touch ID features and cellular connectivity. However, there has been no official word from Apple about the technology, casting doubt on its release.

IT Pro also noted that Apple is set to introduce the 12-inch model of the MacBook Air Retina Display technology at the unveiling event on February 24. Daniel Matte, the lead analyst at Canalys has predicted that the MacBook 2015 will be at 11.9 inches in width, with a 2,732 x 1,536 screen resolution.

Matte said in a post, "It would make sense for Apple to take advantage of the same display technology it has been utilising for the 9.7in iPads by cutting their panels to this larger size. I suspect a new 11.9in Air would be a redesign of the 11.6in model with smaller screen bezels,"

He also added, "By utilizing its existing iPad display manufacturing and gradually replacing both MacBook Air models with just one Retina model, Apple would save a lot of money. OS X's Retina scaling modes would also partially offset the lack of a 13.3in display option."

However, despite the seemingly great specs for the MacBook, Apple still has to go head to head with other brands, and it seems that Dell's new XPS 13 Ultrabook is going to be a good contender. According to BGR, the XPS 13, which was unveiled at this year's CES, actually beat the MacBook specs, with ARS Technica noting, "It's a 13-inch Ultrabook in the body of an 11-inch Ultrabook. This extraordinary size is paired with an attractive, high-resolution screen, nice keyboard, and a decent touchpad, and the whole unit feels solid and well-built."

Lenovo's Yoga 3 Pro is also a good contender. It's a sleek hybrid with an elegant hinge that makes it easy to switch it from a laptop to a tab. It's even usable in tent mode. Plus, according to Laptop Mag, it weighs only 2.6 pounds for its 3,200 x 1,800 pixel touch screen and Core M CPU.

And then, there's the HP EliteBook 1020, which is only 0.62 inches thick and weighs only 2.68 pounds. With a 12.5-inch quad HD Display and Intel Core M processor, paired with a Synaptics ForcePad, business users will be glad to own the EliteBook, with its fingerprint reader, docking port, and amazing durability. The battery could use a longer life span, though.

Are you sticking with Apple, or did any of the other UltraBooks catch your eye?
