UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and her opponent for the upcoming UFC 184 match Cat Zingano both passed the drug test conducted about a month before they go head to head inside the Octagon.

The California State Athletic Commission announced on Thursday that the two fighters had their urine tested for performance-enhancing drugs and the test yielded negative results, MMA Junkie reported.

The commission's executive director Andy Foster told MMA Junkie that Zingano had her test last Feb. 10 while Rousey was tested a day after. The samples of the two were tested at the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory and the results as per the request of the commission were expedited.

This negative result is an assurance that both female fighters are clean before they face each other and they will be sure that their names will not be dragged into any controversy like what happened to Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz who were found to have illegal substances in their body after their bout.

Rousey and Zingano's fight will be the main event at UFC 184 set to happen on Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Rousey will defend her title against the undefeated Zingano. The commission told Fox Sports that the two will again undergo a similar drug test on the night of their fight to check if they used any illegal substance which may help them win the match.

Aside from Rousey and Zingano, Fox Sports added that other female fighters will also be fighting in the event like Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington.

The main card will be an exciting matchup as fans are excited to see if Zingano will be able to take or outclass the power and speed of Rousey.

The bantamweight champion earlier said in a separate Fox Sports report that she has prepared "so well" for the fight.

"The level of competition in the division is very high and it's very tight, and the only reason that it doesn't look that way is because I've prepared so much better and worked so much harder than they do. It's not that it is easy. It's that I find a way. I find a solution quicker than they can find a response," she added.

Rousey, however, discussed that the match with Zingano will be a different one since her contender has never lost a match.

"Not only is she undefeated, but she has the kind of indomitable spirit that I haven't seen exhibited by anyone else, at the level that she has," Rousey explained.

Earlier reports also said that Rowdy has not tried to trash talk Zingano. Instead, she has tried to recognize what her opponent can do as a fighter but assuring the public that she will still prevail.

"She's been down in fights before and every single time, she's come back and finished the other person. And, given everything she's been through lately, in her life outside of fighting, I really feel like she's one of those people that's impossible to intimidate, so I don't even try," Rousey added in the Fox Sports report.
