The third season of the popular Netflix political drama "House of Cards" was temporarily posted online, according to Variety.

"House of Cards" is set to premiere on Feb. 27, but the show almost had an impromptu premiere when the entirety of its third season was on Netflix Wednesday.

Netflix was responsible for placing the content on their website, but they soon realized their mistake and took it down almost immediately.

Cliff Edwards, a spokesman for Netflix, commented on the accidental posting, "Due to a technical glitch some underwood fans got a sneak peek. He'll be back on Netflix on feb.27. #no spoilers."

The official Twitter account for the show also weighed in on the leak, "This is Washington. There's always a leak. All 13 episodes will launch February 27."

Despite Netflix taking down the new season as quickly as they could, fans who were able to start watching episodes as they went online were able to continue doing so even after the show content was taken away from the website, according to the Huffington Post.

The leak led to a total of 10 episodes from the third season making their way online.

The show also recently released a poster and a motion poster to promote the upcoming third season.

In the short clip, Frank and Claire Underwood are shown descending a flight of stairs after exiting what appears to be Air Force One, according to another report from the Huffington Post.

The new motion poster appears to tie into an earlier one released by Netflix announcing the planned release date for the show's third season.

In the motion poster released back in December, Underwood is shown ascending the stairs to a plane bearing the presidential seal.

Kevin Spacey won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a drama series for his role on the show, the Huffington Post said in a separate report. He began his speech with the words, "This is the beginning of my revenge."

An official trailer for the show's third season also premiered at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards. It aired during the commercial break after Spacey received his award.

The trailer begins with Spacey asking, "You want to know what takes real courage?" He then follows it by saying, "Holding it all together when the stakes are this high."

Several scenes of Spacey attending to what appears to be presidential duties follow. The trailer ends with Spacey saying, "We're survivors" in response to his wife saying they are murderers.
