The 2016 debut of the much-anticipated film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will feature some big changes on DC's Dark Knight, not only for the main characters, but also for the supporting characters.

Jeremy Irons, who will portray Batman's faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth, has some things to say about his character in the big-budget film.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner shared a little fact about Bruce Wayne's loyal assistant.

"He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted," Irons told the news outlet. "I would just say he's more hands-on perhaps than just a butler."

The "Die Hard With a Vengeance" actor also went on to explain to The Hollywood Reporter that his character would not have a large role in the upcoming Warner Bros. film due to the large casting involved. Inquisitr reports that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," starring Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, will be the "launchpad for its entire Justice League universe of films."

Fans should expect to see Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, the female Robin, Ray Fisher's Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg, the Flash, and the Suicide Squad. Cinema Blend reports that "Sucker Punch" star Jena Malone is rumored to give life to Carrie Kelley a.k.a. Robin's female version. Rumors about Scoot McNairy portraying the Flash started when the actor "was spotted on the set of the new Zack Snyder movie sporting a set of chroma key socks," which would probably be used for post-production to make his legs look like he is running at super speed.

Cinema Blend adds that Amy Adams will reprise her role as Clark Kent/Superman's love interest Lois Lane. The master criminal Lex Luthor will be portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg. According to the news outlet, "This is the first time on the big screen that we have seen Superman and Lex portrayed as the same age, so this should definitely make for an interesting match-up."

Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles as Perry White and Martha Kent, respectively, Cinema Blend writes.

Despite fans' concerns about the forthcoming movie, Affleck was optimistic about "Batman v Superman." "I felt very confident about it," he said, as quoted by another report from The Hollywood Reporter. "I thought it would be nice to make one of these movies really, really good."

Zack Snyder is directing the film, with David Goyer writing the original screenplay. The movie also enlisted Academy Award winning "Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio, Cinema Blend notes, adding that the official synopsis of the film isn't announced yet, but the title "suggests that the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel will be starting the film as enemies."
