'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Cast and Plot Details

A lot of talk has been going on about the identity of the actor behind the ominous voice in the official trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Some speculations say that it's Benedict Cumberbatch or Max Von Sydow, but HitFix confirms that the voice in the trailer belongs to "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" actor Andy Serkis.

There is no official news yet about the role Serkis plays in the new "Star Wars" film. HitFix, however, reported that he will play a "pivotal role in the film, although he will not have a lot of screen time."

The film is slated to be released in theaters on December 18, 2015, Screenrant reports. The film will most likely revolve around new heroes portrayed by Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac, the outlet added.

According to Mirror, the movie will also star original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. Other actors involved in the cast are Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Von Sydow, Gwendoline Christie (of "Game of Thrones"), and Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o.

The plot is set 30 years after 1983's "Episode 6: Return of the Jedi," which concluded with the death of Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker, the news outlet further reports.

"The film also saw Harrison Ford's Han Solo finally get together with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), as it was revealed Leia is Luke's sister," Mirror adds. This storyline will put the characters in their 50s, which now coincide with the original actors' current ages.
