During a victory parade and celebration in Makati City in the Philippines, Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao again reiterated his call to undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather to fight him inside the ring soon.

Daily Mail said that the boxer gamely waved at his fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of him and celebrate his recent win against Chris Algieri last Sunday in Macau.

As Pacquiao faced thousands of Filipino fans and supporters who went out the streets despite the rainy weather, he again called on Mayweather to agree to fight him next year.

Reacting to the Instagram video posted by Mayweather showing him being knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in Dec. 2012, Pacquiao said that instead of uploading videos trying to make fun or antagonizing him, Mayweather should just fight him.

"He should step up and fight me since I am easy to knock out. The fans deserve that fight. I think it's time to step up and say yes," Pacquiao added.

According to Bleacher Report, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has also expressed strong intent over the years to make the fight happen and is planning to do all that he can for Mayweather's camp to agree.

"I think the fight should happen and all of the nonsense has to cease. There's no reason not to get it done. If boxing is to be considered a major sport, the fight has to happen. Everyone should work together to make that fight happen. There are no excuses anymore. I will be at the phone. We are ready," he was quoted by Bleacher Report as saying.

But the same article noted that the feud between the two great boxers seemed to have "lost its steam."

"A Pacquiao-Mayweather billing now feels more like a cruel in-joke that everyone stopped laughing about years ago. It's as if the sport itself is on autopilot, churning out qualifiers about a potential megafight no one believes is a real possibility," Bleacher Report noted.

It can be remembered that negotiations for the fight started years ago with the two camps failing to agree on the conditions of the matchup. There came a point that when Pacquiao was ready to submit to the demands of Mayweather, the latter started to evade talks about the possibility of them facing each other.

Bleacher Report said that if the two fighter just continue on exchanging words on social media or making the public wait, there will come a time that the two of them will not be the talk of the town in boxing anymore. It explained that come next year or in the following ones, Pacquiao will probably no longer be the "world's most powerful pound-for-pound fighter" or he will be replaced by other fighters stepping up on their games.

"Mayweather is still atop nearly every pound-for-pound ranking, but he's not the same guy. His feet aren't as quick, his jabs not as crisp. His mind still moves as fast as anyone in the sport's history, but the air of invincibility isn't totally there," the same report added.
