The Carolina Panthers (6-3), on a huge roll after defeating the San Francisco 49ers last week, and trying to keep pace with NFC South division leaders New Orleans Saints, host the New England Patriots (7-2) on Monday Night Football.

The Panthers are on a five game winning streak, edging out the 49ers by a score of 10-9, holding San Francisco to 151 total net yards, 2-for-13 on third down conversions, including six sacks on 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, with LB Luke Kuechly earning the defensive player of the week after an 11-tackle performance. The Carolina defense has allowed only 115 points, second-fewest in the league, and are ranked second on total defense, second rushing yards allowed, and tied for fourth in passing yards allowed.

"Everybody's on the same page," said Panthers DE Charles Johnson, who is second in the NFC in sacks 8 ½. "When everybody is on the same page, buying into the scheme, you're going to end up being successful. It's all about being a team and playing as one."

Carolina QB Cam Newton has been very efficient during the team's winning streak, completing 67.4 of his passes during that stretch, and helping convert 46.2 percent of third down conversions while throwing for 13 touchdowns and rushing for more TDs for the season.

New England head coach Bill Belichick feels that despite what Newton brings to the table after faced the Buffalo Bills EJ Manual and the New York Jets Geno Smith twice this season.

"I think that a lot of the plays that Carolina runs we've seen from Buffalo and the Jets," said Belichick. "The fact that we have seen some of those plays, we've worked on the basic blocking schemes and how to fit on them, where everybody needs to be."

The Patriots are coming off their bye week after pounding the Steelers 55-31 in Week 9, with New England QB Tom Brady throwing for 432 yards and four touchdowns against the Steelers. TE Rob Gronkowski caught a career-high nine receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown while WR Danny Amendola had 122 reception yards and a touchdown on four catches, providing help with an inexperienced wide receiver corp that has dropped 12.2 percent of catchable balls, worst in the league.

Even with all the challenges the Patriots have faced with injuries, Brady relishes the challenge of facing one of the best defenses in the league on Monday Night Football.

"Monday Night Football is always pretty cool, especially when you play a really good team on Monday Night Football," said Brady. "It's a fun night."
