Christmas is coming early for One Direction fans. The boys of the popular British group announced that they will have their first ever U.S. network TV special in partnership with NBC Universal, USA Today reported.

The boyband shared the big news on their Twitter account.

Given that the TV special will air during the yuletide season, there's a huge possibility that the event will be Christmas-themed.

According to USA Today, the special titled "One Direction: The TV Special" will air on NBC on December 23, 8 p.m. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson will also perform on Today at Orlando Resort's Citywalk on November 17 (Monday).

The group will also release their upcoming album "Four" on the same day, USA Today added.

One Direction's partnership with NBC Universal started on September 8 this year, including "a competition to win VIP tickets to see the group perform at Universal Studios Florida Monday and Tuesday, as well as giving Universal Orlando Resorts' Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster a temporary 1D theme," USA Today wrote further.

As part of the NBC Universal/One Direction partnership, guests at the Universal Orlando's Cabana Bay Beach Resort will have an opportunity to be in a "Four" album listening party on November 16 from 7-8 PM ahead of its official release, Popdust revealed.

'Four' and 'On the Road Again Tour'

One Direction's upcoming album "Four" features songs such as "Steal My Girl," "Ready to Run," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," and "Fireproof." Visit iTunes to pre-order "Four."

Just recently, One Direction released "Girl Almighty," the fifth track from their fourth studio album. According to Music Times, the song "almost feels rushed, with a tempo faster than anything heard from One Direction in quite some time. However, the song is kicked down a notch thanks to some fancy, upbeat guitar work." The newly released track also features a catchy and fast tune that's sure to make fans sing along.

The group is set to perform on American Music Awards on November 23, according to RyanSeacrest.com. They will also begin touring for their international "On the Road Again" concert series in February 2015. They will be performing in various stadium across the U.S. including Gillette Stadium, MetLife Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field, according to a report from Forbes.
