Samsung is reportedly preparing to release an iPhone-like device but with a budget-friendly price tag.

Based on a new Federal Communications filing, BGR shared that the popular South Korean smartphone company will have a total of three devices that sport a similar took to that of the iPhone 5 and 5S.

The Samsung Galaxy A3, the entry level version of the three mobile phones, is believed to be the cheaper version of the high-end Galaxy Alpha. In terms of its appearance, it will come with metal chamfered edges that goes around the phone's casing, a recognized look of its rival -- the Apple iPhone.

Internally, the A3 is said to pack the following specs: "a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, a 4.8-inch display with a qHD (540×960) resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 8GB of internal storage, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat (given the 64-bit processor, we're guessing it will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, or maybe even come with it out of the box since it brings support for 64-bit processing)", detailed SamMobile.

While it is believed to sport a dual SIM capabilities, it seems users will be stuck with the outdated 3G service as the A3 probably won't support 4G connectivity.

According to TechTimes who wrote on the alleged three-set release -- the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 -- the A3's camera capabilities aren't bad. It's got a 8-megapixel rear camera that's supported by a 5-megapixel front-facing shutter perfect for video chatting and selfies.

Samsung Galaxy A3 Versus the Samsung Galaxy Alpha

This rumored Galaxy A series takes after its earlier released, higher-end sibling, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha which was the first Samsung phone to feature a metal frame and extremely slim package, clocking in at 6.7mm.

While there is no mention if the A3 will be fitted with a fingerprint scanner, like the one the Alpha has on its home screen, as a comparison, the superior Alpha devices features a 4.7in HD 720p Super AMOLED screen display, 320ppi pixel density, Samsung's octa-core 1.8GHz Exynos 5 processor, quad-core 2.5GHz chip, and lightning quick 300Mbps Cat 6 LTE speeds, summarized The Inquirer.

Moreover, the Alpha as 2GB of RAM within its slim frame, 1,850mAh battery and unexpandable 32GB of internal storage. Camera wise, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha had a 12MP camera on its rear and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Based on these specs, would you opt for a Samsung Galaxy Alpha or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A3?
