Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Update: Plot Details, New Trailer, Avengers 3 News & End Credit Scene

Marvel's followup to 2012's mega-hit The Avengers, is scheduled to hit theaters next May, and it's shaping up to be an epic production by all accounts. Avengers: Age of Ultron will feature almost all of the original cast as they take on Ultron, a super-powered evil robot. Recent days and weeks have seen a lot of news regarding the film swirling about online. We've made a list of this weeks biggest news regarding Marvel's upcoming Avengers sequel.

Trailer

It's been widely reported that the first major trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron could appear before Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic Interstellar hits theaters on Novermber 7. And since Marvel typically has release its trailers online a week before they debut on the big screen, that means fans can possibly expect the trailer perhaps during the last week of this month.

Plot Details [WARNING - Spoilers, Kinda]

One of the hottest plot rumors circulating the Internet right now is that a major Marvel character could die in 'Ultron.' Joss Whedon himself, when asked what fans should expect in the upcoming sequel, replied, "Death, death and death." Naturally, people have taken to wildly speculating about just who might actually die when 'earth's mightiest heroes' take on Ultron in the upcoming film. One image from the production that might serve as a clue is the broken shield of Captain America, yet, Marvel has already greenlit Captain America 3 for production, so for Steve Rogers to die in the new Avengers film would probably require a quick resurrection.

Avengers 3 - Two Films?

It's also been reported that the next Avengers film might actually be two films, in that they would appear only a year apart from each other. Dark Horizons reports that Marvel has scheduled a yet unnamed movie for a May 3rd, 2019 release. But Marvel studio head Kevin Feige has been quoted as stating that the third Avengers film might arrive in 2018. So, two Avengers sequels coming out in back-to-back summers is a possibility.

Age of Ultron - End Credits Scene

Including a short scene at the end of a film to tease what fans can expect in future sequels has become a staple in the Marvel Studios catalogue, and according to reports, 'Age of Ultron' will be no different. It is rumored that Captain Marvel could make an appearance either at the end of 'Ultron' or at the end of the credits in a short scene. Many are suggesting that by the end of 'Ultron,' the Avengers team shown in the previous film will look quite different, with Captain America leading a new team of both familiar faces and new additions. It certainly sounds like Marvel is building up to something. We can only hope it includes Thanos and some sort of Gauntlet, perhaps even one of the Infinity variety? Please?
