'PES 2015' PS4 & Xbox One Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: Game Renders 1080p on Sony vs 720p on Microsoft Console

The resolution will differ on different consoles for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. revealed, and the PlayStation 4 version will render at the highest resolution.

The official PES website posted a table comparing the PS4, PS3 and Xbox One versions, Attack of the Fanboy reported, and the table (in Japanese) shows that the resolution is superior with the PS4.

Sony's PS4 version checks in at 1080p at 60fps. Meanwhile, Microsoft's Xbox One and the PS3 render at 720p, although also at 60fps. Most game developers target the PS4's numbers, Attack of the Fanboy said, explaining that 1080p looks better on bigger TVs.

PES 2015, like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is powered by Konami's Fox Engine, said Computer and Video Games. The engine's first game, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, was also rendered at 1080p on PS4, with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima giving the PS4 a thumbs-up.

"I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best," he said in February, as quoted by the report. "It's also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare."

"Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It's the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at."

That should assure PS4 users when PES 2015 gets released on Nov. 11 in the United States and Nov. 13 in Europe, with versions for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

With PES 2015, Konami has assured fans since July that the PS4 will run with max statistics but buckled with the Xbox One, VideoGamer.com reported.

"We're locked at 60 frames, 1080p already, and this is the first build," European brand manager Adam Bhatti said in the report, but senior creative producer Naoya Hatsumi explained that PES Productions "can't give a definite yes" as to the Xbox One. It did not get there, we can now be sure.

In another report, Computer and Video Games said the 2015 edition is developed by teams in Tokyo and the United Kindom, and features a new shooting system, and better one-on-ones and dribling skills. Konami.com added: "Every pass, shot or run is finely balanced to give maximum player satisfaction within PES 2015's on-field action."

The website explained that the production team improved its rendering of key maneuvers, like shooting and goal-keeping, and passing and goal-scoring. The ball will behave more realistically, it added. Check the trailer here.
