iPad 6 Release Date, Features and Specs: New Concept Tablet has Transparent Glass Panel and 3D Camera

The iPad 5 has not been announced nor released yet but renders of its successor, iPad 6, already made it to the web.

A new iPad 6 concept will wow Apple fans as it features a transparent glass panel and 3D camera.

The concept was from Deviantart member geek3dfr who imagined what could the 2014 iPad possibly look like. The upper and lower side of the panel sports a metal slab that houses the FaceTime camera and Home Button, respectively.

It is most probable that this futuristic iPad will include miniscule components hidden on nooks and crannies that are not transparent.

Notably though, iPads have a solid aluminium body that offers durability despite being lightweight, replacing it with glass will make the device a lot fragile which may turn off many Apple fans.

Meanwhile, the iPad 5 is rumoured to be released on October 15 alongside iPad Mini 2, MacBook Pro 2013 with Haswell processor and OS X Mavericks.

iPad 5 is expected to feature a thinner and slimmer design resembling the iPad Mini. According to rumors, Apple's 10-inch tablet will feature the faster 64-bit A7 processor chip with M7 GPU chip. This promises faster processing in the tablet. The device will also feature the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button.

Other features include large internal storage of up to 128GB just like that of iPad 4. Rumors said that iPad will retain its 5MP rear shooter although many consumers are hoping for an 8MP back camera.

As usual, Apple offered no comment on the rumors surrounding its upcoming device. Thus, consumers should just wait and see until the official announcement.
