TIGER TO PLAY

Tiger Woods announced today that he will indeed play in the year's final major. This was welcome news as Woods wasn't able to finish at last weekend's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational due to ongoing issued with his back. Woods missed this year's Masters' Championship after undergoing back surgery earlier this spring. He was able to play in the British Open last month, however, he failed to make a strong showing.

According to Bleacher Report, Woods arrived at Valhalla today to play a practice round and warm up his swing on the driving range. After 9 holes on Wednesday, Tiger sounded up beat.

"I'm pain-free...I feel good," Woods was quoted as stating after the round. He also said his issues last weekend were not related to his surgery, but, rather, a different part of his back was causing him discomfort.

ESPN's Bob Harig was on hand for the practice round and said Tiger looked fine. "If Tiger is worried about taking it easy...doesn't appear to be the case so far," Harig tweeted. "This warm-up sesson is like a full-out practice."

ESPN is also reporting that should Tiger not participate in this weekend's PGA Championship, it would be the first time Woods played in less than 2 major championships in a single years since 1994.
