'iPhone 6' Release Date, Specs & Rumors: Leaked Video Shows Housing Design

By Staff Reporter| Jul 31, 2014

As the rumored September 2014 launch of the iPhone 6 draws near, online leaks are at an all time high with the newest leak of the alleged actual component sourced from a manufacturer coming in.

Based on earlier iPhone 6 leaks, the design and structure of the new phone in the video is more or less parallel. It shows a slimmer iPhone frame, modified volume keys, rounded corners, a relocated power button as well as an altered antenna appearance.

In a short video, iCrackUriDevice goes over all the design changes expected for the iPhone 6, including the phone's thin profile, the newly-positioned power button, iPod touch-like volume rockers, round corners, redesigned antennas on the back, and increased size of the device, while comparing it to last year's flagship iPhone model, the iPhone 5s.

Basics on the iPhone 6 Rumors

The iPhone 6 is widely hailed as the next big thing from Apple. With all the rumors and specs being reported, it's believed to have a major modification from the previous iPhone design.

The soon-to-be-unveiled iPhone 6 which is by far the most highly-anticipated phone for 2014 is expected to sport an enhanced A8 processor chip as well as internal improvements like resolution and graphics. It is also expected to be pre loaded with the new iOS 8 and should other rumors prove to be true on other devices for release, the iPhone 6 will be compatible with a supposed iWatch allegedly being developed.

The next-gen iPhone is also rumored to have durable sapphire glass display, which was widely reported early but according to new sources, it's becoming unlikely that the entire display will sport the indestructible material.

According to Monday's report by LEDinside analysts from market researcher Trendforce, per Design & Trend, with the mass production Apple is said to be putting in place, there has not been enough sapphire glass purchase to indicate a massive sapphire glass rollout.

"The sapphire material is still being applied in new generation Apple smartphones camera lenses and fingerprint recognition readers. If the new iPhone keeps up Apple's previous smartphone models hot selling records, sapphire demands will be driven by the smartphone's applications till the end of this year. However, the much anticipated sapphire cover glass remains missing from the picture," writes the site.

Insiders indicate the iPhone 6 will be launched either Sept. 19 or 25 this year.
