Robert Pattinson Talks Kristen Stewart Break Up Details; 'Sh*t Happens' Says Actor

By Staff Reporter| Jul 31, 2014

Two years after Robert Pattinson's highly publicized and scandalous break up with "Twilight" co-star, Kristen Stewart, the actor finally breaks his silence and reveals how he coped with the unfortunate situation.

Pattinson is on the cover of Esquire UK's September 2014 issue, and according to the "Rover" star, who spoke to the magazine: "Shit happens, you know?" he said. "It's just young people... it's normal! And honestly, who gives a shit?"

The 28-year-old was commenting on how he looks at the entire ordeal. Pattinson and Stewart were under scrutiny for months after it was reported that 24-year-old Stewart cheated on Pattinson with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, 43.

It seems like he's moved on from the experience. He did admit though that he went through a very difficult time.

"The hardest part was talking about it afterwards. Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict," confessed the actor.

"It's like that scene in Doubt [2008, in which Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a priest suspected of inappropriate behaviour], where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you've got to go and collect all the feathers," he continued.

Hollywoodlife.com recalled an earlier comment of the Brit to Sunday Style, and the topic was all about forgiveness: "I don't ever feel the need to forgive or expect people to be," said Rob. "I judge people on their actions. I don't really care if it's wrong or right, I give them the benefit of the doubt. If they do something I can't be bothered to deal with, I just cut them out."

So, does that mean Pattinson had already shut his doors on K-Stew after the infamous affair? That remains to be answered.

What's evident, though, is that Pattinson hasn't let all the publicity, fame and praises get to his head. The Esquire UK noted that the actor has remained grounded throughout the constant buzz around him. "There was a time, three years ago, when I didn't know where to live where I wouldn't be trapped in my home, you know? But I worked it out. It's not that big a deal in the end. Half of it is in your head."

Pattinson also shared a few more details about his successful career, like when he felt he officially made it as an actor, and his experiences with the paparazzi. He also talked about his "extraordinarily heavy saliva" which he also mentioned to host, Jimmy Kimmel.

Pattinson has managed to create a name for himself outside of the popular "Twilight" series. He's got quite a diverse resume which includes his new film, "The Rover" and other projects like David Cronenberg's satire-drama, "Maps to the Stars" (2014) and romantic drama, "Water for Elephants" (2011), to name a few.
