Belgian World Cup Fan Dropped From L'Oreal Modeling Contract After Hunting Photos Surface

When the World Cup photos of Belgian beauty Alex Despiegelaere cheering in the stands in Brazil went viral, cosmetic giant L'Oreal jumped on the opportunity, offering the 17-year-old Red Devil fan a modeling contract.

But now, only a few days after her stint as a cover girl began, Despiegelaere has been dropped by the makeup company, allegedly due to social media posts that reference hunting.

The teen posted a photo posing next to what appears to be a dead gazelle, with the tag line, "Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It's much more important than that...this is about 1 year ago...ready to hunt Americans today haha."

According to Business Insider, the caption Despiegelaere used for the Facebook photo was in reference to a World Cup match between Belgium and the United States.

Although L'Oreal would not confirm that the photos were the cause of the terminated modeling contract, a representative told "[L'Oreal] no longer tests on animals, anywhere in the world, and does not delegate this task to others."
