The Yosemite National Park rim fire is now ranked as 6th in the biggest wildfires list in the entire history of California. It has burnt about 301 square miles of land and it has grown and expanded to several hundred acres more.

The officials assigned to tame the fire are confident enough that they can soon stop the spreading wildfire. Their expectations include surrounding the fire in just three weeks but the fire may still burn longer up until the dry season ends. This triggers more of everyone's worry that it will affect the air quality up in the northern part of Yosemite and even the other communities in Nevada.

The Yosemite National Park rim fire began Aug 17 and exploded hugely in an instant. It was just during the early part of this week when it slowed down and moved to other parts of the forest. It burned down even the part which never had fire in the last 20 years.

According to the officials' statistics, the Yosemite National Park rim fire has already ruined a total of 111 structures along with 11 homes. It has also put at risk numerous giant sequoias. Its harmful fires have even threatened the water supply from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir for San Francisco.

The Yosemite Fire officials and crew maintains the use of a drone to help them monitor the level of fire where they cannot possibly reach anymore. They were reportedly productive on Wednesday and their containment achieved increased by 30 percent due to the cool temperature and even less winds for the past several days.
