Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date & Rumors: 5 Most Wanted Specs & Features for Smartphone

By Staff Reporter| Jul 04, 2014

It was only in February when the Samsung Galaxy S5 rolled out. However, a few months down the road, the public has a better idea on how the S5 works and what new technology is out there that could be integrated in the next gen model to make it even better.

Here we list the top 5 most wanted features that we want to see in the Samsung Galaxy S6:

Enhanced Built - While the Galaxy S5 was a beauty to look at, the built and feel is another matter. Airherald.com concluded that many consumers didn't take to the plastic feel of the Galaxy S5, so this time around, it might be best to have a Silicon or Graphene material that will give the Galaxy S6 an elevated look fitting of its features.

Stronger Processing Power - The Galaxy S5 didnt' come packed with a 64-bit processor. Since Apple is already on this level, twice where Samsung is (at 32-bit) a processor with a bigger punch should give users more functionality and user-ability, noted TechRadar.com.

Battery Life - If you haven't seen Samsung's new diss at Apple through its newly unveiled ad "Wall Huggers," click the jump below and see how Samsung emphasizes its battery performance over Apple. However, Airherald.com writes that with larger capacity comes the use of more battery power. It's 2800 mAh could stand to be boosted to at least 3300-3500.

Flexible or Curved Display - This new technology is all the rage and knowing that Samsung already has a folding photo prototype, as noted by Tech Radar, having a flexibility element to the phone would be an innovation the general public would enjoy playing with.

Better Resolution - The S5 comes with a 16M colors, 1080 x 1920 pixels display but this isn't enough anymore. With the release of the S5 LTE-A in Korea decked out with a Quad HD screen, it will not do to have anything less than 2000 for the display. The Galaxy S6 should sport, at the very least, a 1440 x 2650 Quad HD resolution screen, said PCadvisor.com.

Rumors of the release date for the Samsung Galaxy S6 are pegged to early 2015, following the aftermath of the release of the iPhone 6, which analysts expect, will be released on September 19, 2014. TrustedReview.com recalls that the MWC is going to be on March 2-5 so it wouldn't be impossible that Samsung launches it then. After all, that would be approximately one year since the release of the S5.
